Description


Dorsal spines (total): 8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 8; Vertebrae: 24. Generally smooth to crenulate preopercle edge, one predorsal scale, 13 well-developed gill rakers on first arch, fourth dorsal spine the longest, and a single dark spot, perhaps appearing as an ocellus in life, on the body just behind the opercle flap. Remarks: caudal fin slightly rounded.
